The collection combines the small quantities of surviving files that document the activities of a number of executives at JWT-Frankfurt, and also include material from subject files kept at the JWT Frankfurt Office. The executives represented are Gordon Effer (GE), Francis Gearon (FG), Christian Grupe (CG), Don Johnston (DJ), Manfred Ostwald (MO), Dominique Simonin (DS), HakĚŠan Verner-Carlsson (HVC), and Horst Windecker (HW). All of these executives were high-ranking officers working on a variety of levels: handling interoffice and international correspondence with JWT and clients, acquiring new business, representing JWT to trade organizations, and dealing with personnel. The clients with whom they worked included De Beers, Deutsche Bank, Kellogg, Kraft, Mouson, Reynolds, Signal, Singer, Texaco, and Unilever. Major formats include typed and handwritten correspondence; graphs and other graphics used for presentations; photographs; many advertisements on slides; clippings; and storyboards. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising, and Marketing History.
